Ambassador of Romania in the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Mr. Daniel Cristian Ciobanu, presented a speech in the opening of NATO International School of Azerbaijan (NISA) summer session, held in Baku between July 1-5, 2013.
The event was organized with the support of Ministry of Foreign Affaires of the Republic of Azerbaijan and gathered together a large number of participants, among which students and young scholars from different countries (Azerbaijan, Romania, United States of America, Great Britain, Georgia, Spain, Italy, Afghanistan, Kazahstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Ukraine, Russia), experts, as well as members of diplomatic corps accredited in Azeri capital.
Debates, held under the theme of ”Afghanistan post-2014”, focused on such issues as historical overview of Afghanistan, current efforts aimed at shaping a modern Afghan state, NATO strategy for Afghanistan post-2014 and international support for Afghanistan.
In his speech, Romanian Ambassador to Baku praised Azerbaijan contribution to international efforts aimed at ensuring stabilization and security of Afghanistan, pointing out to Azeri contribution to ISAF, transit opportunities provided by Baku, as well as financial contribution. In the same time, he noted that Azerbaijan was one of the first countries to announce its intention of participating to the new mission in Afghanistan post 2014.
